mmm niceMMM Nice! (LPS-2117) was Recorded Aug. 1959. Sexy, mischievous fun; very jazzy. "MMM Nice!" was uttered by either Marni Nixon (who played a nun in The Sound of Music), Peggy Clark, or Sally Sweetland, a trio that sang on all the records. The song Joie de Vivre expresses Bob's fascination with the freedom and fun of French culture. The cover girl is Sandra Warner who graced the covers of Martin Denny albums as well.

Selected Personnel: Shelly Manne (drums), Larry Bunker (drums, perc.), Frank Capp (drums), Emil Richards (perc.), Bud Shank (Sax), Frank Rosolino (trombone), Ken Shroyer (trombone), Don Fagerquist (trumpet), Al Porcino (trumpet), Alton Hendrickson (guitar), Red Callender (horns).

Tracks: The Song is You, Younger than Springtime, People Will Say We're in Love, They Can't Take That Away from Me, While We're Young, The Best Thing for you, Ain't We Got Fun, Hello, Young Lovers, Do It Again, Joie de Vivre, I've Grown Accustomed to Her Face, Playboy.

If only one vocal group album could be inducted into the Space Age Pop hall of fame, [MMM Nice!] would be it...Thompson's own originals are the best things on the album--sexy and playful.
