MMM
Nice! (LPS-2117) was recorded Aug. 1959. Sexy, mischievous
fun; very
jazzy. "MMM Nice!" was uttered by either Marni Nixon (who played a nun
in The Sound of Music), Peggy Clark, or Sally Sweetland, a trio that
sang on all the records. The song Joie de Vivre expresses Bob's
fascination with the freedom and fun of French culture. The cover girl
is Sandra Warner who graced the covers of Martin Denny albums as well.
Selected
Personnel: Shelly Manne (drums), Larry Bunker (drums, perc.), Frank
Capp (drums), Emil Richards (perc.), Bud Shank (Sax), Frank Rosolino
(trombone), Ken Shroyer (trombone), Don Fagerquist (trumpet), Al
Porcino (trumpet), Alton Hendrickson (guitar), Red Callender (horns).
