Just
for Kicks (LPS-2027) was Grammy-nominated
in 1959 and recorded November of 1958. Bob's
wife gave the album its title, along with On
the Rocks. Peek-a-boo is a pleasant
come-hither strip tease, compete with mallets
serving as musical motif for blinking, sexy
eyelashes.
The liner notes say it best: "Picture
a moonlight swim without the encumbrance of
superfluous apparel; an impromptu plane flight
to Las Vegas or Miami; a cha cha contest at
a lease-breaking party; an all night discussion
of philosophy while sobering up on café espresso.
These are some of the things which imaginative
people do 'just for kicks!
Tracks: Just for Kicks, Diga Diga Doo,

All of You, Bye Bye Blackbird, Why Do Love You.

There was bound to come a
time when the cocktail glass tintinnabulations
of Bob Thompson would become fashionable again.
That day has arrived.
