Just for Kicks (LPS-2027)
was Grammy-nominated in 1959 and recorded November of 1958. Bob's wife
gave the album its title, along with On the Rocks. Peek-a-boo is a
pleasant come-hither strip tease, compete with mallets serving as
musical motif for blinking, sexy eyelashes.
The liner notes say
it best: "Picture a moonlight swim without the encumbrance of
superfluous apparel; an impromptu plane flight to Las Vegas or Miami; a
cha cha contest at a lease-breaking party; an all night discussion of
philosophy while sobering up on café espresso. These are some of the
things which imaginative people do 'just for kicks!
Tracks: Just for Kicks, Peek-a-Boo, Diga Diga Doo, Makin' Whoopee, On
the Street Where You Live, A Foggy Day, Look for the Silver Lining, Mad
About the Boy, Angel Eyes, It Might as Well Be Spring, All of You, It's
All Right With Me, All of You, Bye Bye Blackbird, Why Do Love You.
